About Northwest Dance Studio

Origin Story

Founder of Northwest Dance Studio, Sarah Swindell has been dancing since her teen years. As a classically trained ballet student she became Orlando Ballet's youngest apprentice at the time at 16 yrs old.

After overcoming some struggles with weight and body image she made the difficult decision to take a break from dance.

She returned to dance in the role of an instructor. Focusing on stage presence and perfecting technique, without the body image culture which surrounds most studios. Come as you are, but expect to be pushed to your best.

Culture matters. The average dance studio promotes a culture of appearances first, leading to comparisons, insecurities, and anxieties. Our teachers and students cultivate an environment of respect, honor, and connection.
